Oh no! What happened to Melanie? I adored her. Cutest thing ever! Anyone else break down when they read that list? All these years, and it still hurts. I miss them more than ever. RIP, my dear, departed friends.

I will have to do some of this from memory, which isn't as good as it used to be.  I saw Melanie's obituary in the Fresno Bee last September.  She had passed away in July, from cancer IIRC.  She was living in Maryland.  Her married name was Johnston.
